The McLean Foundation was established in 1945 by the late Mr. J. S. McLean. Mr. and Mrs. J.S. McLean were avid supporters and collectors of the arts, most notably works of the Group of Seven and other Canadian artists, such as Tom Thomson, David Milne and Emily Carr. The Foundation provides grants in a wide range of areas, including arts (visual & theatre) conservation, education, health and welfare.
Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Grants made by the Foundation are restricted to organizations which are recognized by Canada Revenue Agency as “charitable organizations” and which are able to provide a registration number.
