The society is comprised of approximately 120 amateur and semi-professional artists. We meet monthly, (September to June), in Halifax to discuss our mutual interest in painting and the arts. Each month we have a guest speaker, a professional Nova Scotian artist who will discuss his/her work with samples and generally a slide presentation. Throughout the year the group participates in a number of local art shows where members may show or sell their work. The highlight of the year is the annual Juried Show where members may submit samples of their work to a panel of judges – a number of awards are presented including “The People’s Choice Award” at the Opening Night Reception.
