The Alberni Valley Museum, reflecting the richly diverse past of the area, has a large collection of artifacts linked to First Nations culture, local and industrial history, and folk art. The Alberni Valley Museum uses a unique visible storage system to make the entire collection available to the visitor at all times — along with the information, in easy to use catalogue books.
The Museum presents an exciting and varied programme of temporary exhibits each year, plus we offer challenging hands-on school programmes and a range of public programmes. We can also help you do your research on local history or advise on heritage and preservation. Just call ahead to access our collection of 17,000 historical photographs — copies are available for a fee to cover costs. There is something for everyone to discover, or rediscover, at this impressive local museum.
