Mood is a series of playlists curated by local creatives to appease all of the feels, year round.

Josephine Clarke Headshot

This week’s playlist was curated by Josephine Clarke, a multidisciplinary artist practicing in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia, Canada. She primarily works with textiles, but her practice also embraces salvage, sculpture, performance, video documentary, and installation. Josephine was one of the 9 selected Artists-in-Residence participating in the Unmute: Virtual Artist Residency as a part of the national launch of artsUNITE / UNITE des arts!

“Put it on shuffle and go for a ride. Now, I don’t know how to describe my taste in music lately. I’ll describe it as if it’s a vibe. There are some songs on here in different languages. Patois, German, Russian, Arabic, Punjabi, French, Spanish. I don’t speak any of those languages but I can bop to it. Of course, it’s heavily folk-filled because that’s just telling of my upbringing. Some emo throwbacks because also that. It’s a mish-mash because I’m a little country-bumpkin anarchist.”
