he Paprika Festival has launched its call for participants for Paprika’s 21st season!

We are inviting young and emerging artists under 30 to apply to our seven free training programs. The deadline to apply is October 3rd at midnight.

At Paprika, artists lead their own creative process with the support of their peers and professional mentors, culminating in a performing arts festival of new works by young artists.

Paprika is a youth-led performing arts festival. Our team, facilitators and participants are young, queer, trans, non-binary, and IBPOC artists imagining the future of theatre. We run year round professional training and mentorship programs that include mentorship opportunities, workshops, and labs, all which culminate in a performing arts festival of new work by young artists. We prioritize, celebrate and welcome folks from equity-seeking groups and offer transit support, food, and small participant honorariums to support folks’ learning.

For this year’s digital hybrid season, we will be offering a mix of in-person and online training opportunities. Paprika encourages artists from across the country to apply to Festival Creative Producers & Administrators and Playwrights Unit, which will be delivered entirely online.
