The Textile Museum of Canada invites emerging curators and scholars to apply for the position of Curator in Residence. As part of the Museum’s Creative in Residence program, this is an opportunity to re-imagine the museum experience, pushing the notion of what a museum can be – for visitors, the creative community, and the Textile Museum of Canada itself. Through access to resources and mentorship, the resident will advance their own professional practice, challenging both themselves and the communities the Museum engages with art, craft, and design in new and innovative ways. Working remotely, the resident will be integrated into the daily life of the Museum. They will contribute to the Museum’s expanding digital programming and revisioning of its collection, education, and community galleries. The resident will bring their own lived experience to the interpretation of the Museum’s collection of global textiles which includes more than 15,000 textiles from over 200 regions around the world.
