Event Date: November 13, 2021, 2pm
Event Location: Richmond Cultural Centre, 7700 Minoru Gate, Richmond, BC
Deadline for Artist Expressions of Interest: September 17, 2021, 11:59pm.
Who We Are Looking For:
The Richmond Arts Coalition is looking for collaborative artists for an exciting revue-style performance event centred on cultural connections. We are looking for culturally diverse performers, singers, dancers, dance groups, visual artists, and musicians who are excited to collaborate with other artists.
The Event:
Let’s Celebrate Together is a digitally presented event connecting local artists from different cultural backgrounds and art forms and tasking them with respectfully combining their talents to create a cohesive, entertaining, and educational showcase. Possible connections could include an East Indian dancer joining with a Japanese drummer, or a Chinese singer joining with a North American illustrator. It will be a colourful and alive series of performances filled with song, dance, costumes, music, and art.
The event will be filmed for free, accessible online viewing. If health regulations allow, the event will also include a live performance component. Artists chosen for this project will work with the production team to create an event that highlights and celebrates their diverse talents and stories in a collaborative way.
Remuneration:
Participating artists will be paid professional rates still to be finalized. The Richmond Arts Coalition is proud to be able to support local artists thanks to grants from Metro Vancouver, the BC Arts Council, and the City of Richmond.
