W.P. Puppet Theatre is accepting proposals from artists to share their work through talks/workshops/demos and performance at our next Puppet Power event!
Puppet Power 2022: Celebration! is the 10th edition of our biennial festival of ideas in applied puppetry arts. Featuring local, Canadian, and international master puppeteers whose inspiring talks/workshops/performances link to intriguing ideas.
This hybrid online/in-person festival is scheduled for May 25 – 29, 2022.
Puppet Power: Celebration! seems fitting as we adapt post-COVID-19 and work towards an equitable, diverse, inclusive, accessible, anti-racist society.
Celebration sparks a variety of questions: How do we celebrate? What do we choose to celebrate? Who is celebrating and who is not? What about anti-celebration considerations? How has puppetry contributed to the ritual, cultural or commerce of celebration? How has puppetry helped define what celebration is?
We are accepting applications from artists to provide talks, hands-on workshops, and/or performances whose work in puppetry links to and supports our theme of Celebration.

Artists will be compensated for their talk/workshop/performance as well as travel (if applicable).
