Dis/Play is a public art project that shines a light on disabled people telling their own stories, woven into a multi-media display that will be projected onto exterior building walls in the streets of Toronto. The project is being led by Ophira Calof in partnership with the ReelAbilities Film Festival of Toronto/Miles Nadal JCC, as part of ArtworxTO: Toronto’s Year of Public Art 2021–2022.
We are seeking visual content to include in the video element of this project, celebrating Deaf, Disabled, Mad and Chronically Ill people in the GTA. Some examples include: photographs, selfies, videos, digital artwork, or scans of visual art. This will be eligible for a $35 honorarium or item of equal value and the prompt is: how do you want to be seen?
