TOAF is thrilled to present Art Nest, an exciting new initiative that will provide artists with an opportunity that will challenge them to experiment, take risks and push the boundaries of their particular practice beyond the limits of the 10 x 10 square foot tent context.
Eligibility
Art Nest is open to both past and current TOAF artists to take their practice to the next level by creating commissioned public art projects to be installed at Nathan Phillips Square during this year’s 61st edition of the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair.
Selected artists will develop their work with the curatorial support of Rui Pimenta. Rui is the Co-Artistic Director and Co-curator of Art Spin, a Toronto based art organization that has been presenting a multidisciplinary range of site-specific programming in unique and alternative spaces since 2009.
Submission Guidelines
TOAF is seeking proposals for installation, sculpture, new media and performance art that are appropriate for an outdoor setting and related weather conditions. Proposals should also account for visitor safety. All proposals are subject to approval by the City of Toronto. Show organizers will assign space at Nathan Phillips Square.
An artist fee of $2,500 plus $2,000 for material costs will be paid to each selected artist.
